Discuss All of Us Are Dead

The zombie genre is such an enjoyable genre because it has a lot to offer depending on the way you spin it. You can show the fun aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, you can create a nail-biting survival thriller, you can show power struggle between characters, etc. There's a lot of spin to this genre and yet this show doesn't have any to offer. But if you call dropping themes midway, characters doing a lot of things unnecessary, or great inconsistencies in the story something good to offer then this show is for you.

Otherwise, it's just another zombie series with flawed characters, logic and writing. Just another bad Netflix series that is milked to the core.

Although I am NOT a fan of NF, they are only the distributor of this series.

I think they create original series too. I'm not sure though if this is one of it.

No, they are not, as I said they are only the distributor.

Oh you're right, turns out netflix originals is not what I thought it was.

Regardless if its a Netflix original or not, this is a great series and I'm looking forward to a second one.

I'm not sure how you can say it's just another zombie series as it's set in a high school where the relationships and teen angst are more at play. That's what kept me hooked. The subtext of bullying and the actions of bullies, plus how teachers deal with them etc make this more than your average zombie show.

Yeah that's what I thought at first then they messed it up. What happened with the theme of bullying? Where's the justice for the bullied? Where's the punishment for the bullies? That's what kept me away from getting hooked. + What I'm looking for in zombie movies are smart characters not these guys who can't even pick up their used arrows. Even the writing is so dumb and inconsistent.

I'm not sure what you mean justice for the bullied? I don't think it worked like that. But some of the bullies did get their comeuppance. What I liked about the show was they never went down the route of the obvious characters surviving. For example, the girl who purposefully infected a classmate. It seemed like her character would get some sort of redemption, but she didn't. The same with the dad who seemed like he was destined to survive.

As for the used arrows...they would be stuck in the zombies, where would they have time to try and take it out of them?

All similar type films or shows will have characters doing dumb things, but again, that's just reflective of society in general. I thought the dynamics of these high school characters and their teen angst worked really well.
