My decidedly different perspective rises out of the fact that I know God and follow Him. Yep, and I even wrote a free eBook to help you know God exists and the evidence is OVERWHELMING and 'beyond a reasonable doubt', so you need to humbly seek Him out and know Him both for eternal life, but also for true purpose and meaning to this life now, understanding who made you, WHY He made you, and so on.

God offers forgiveness for our sins which keep us from knowing Him and having eternal life. He did this by paying the penalty Himself - Jesus Christ, God in the flesh dying on the cross. He rose again conquering death and the power of sin, and His witnesses went out teaching about Him, sharing the Good News of the Gospel, and He is returning (and the signs are pretty thick these days).
